Observations of "Middle Earth"

From time to time we all wax & wane poetically about the past… “The Good Old Days”… Looking for a short respite from the pressures and issues of today. The past four days have been filled with the excitement of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament; March Madness! Which is a great diversion from the blubbering idiots in Washington, D.C. whom collectively, are working as hard & fast as they can to destroy this Great Experiment known as the United States of America.

I was enjoying an “adult beverage” on my patio this past week, flipping through the channels on DirecTV, where I watched part of a Monty Python episode… It was terrific & so much fun! Some number of “adult beverages” later, I was watching the Fox News Channel… Painfully suffering through the spin, whirling, twirling and twisting of the truth into the intractable lies of the President, the Speaker of the House, Senator Dodd, the Senate Majority Leader and Treasury Secretary Geithner. Man! Was my head hurting! (And it wasn’t from the canadian whiskey, either!)

Then it all became very clear to me that I had seen this movie before! How could I have not recognized it earlier? I am now convinced that we are living through a real-life epic… Coming to not only a theater near you in 2009… But making their way into your wallet, your home, your bedroom & your house of worship…

Those geniuses in Hollywood who live in a world of magic and fantasy… Those masters of superior knowlege & intellect are directing and producing a “reality politique” in Washington, D.C.! With a cast that will water your eyes! Introducing…

Majority Leader “Wormtongue”… 

The devious servant of the Wizard Saruman. Wormtongue uses his power & influence on the people to his master’s purposes.

”Saruman”… Chief of Staff to O-GALLUM... Saruman surreptitiously lays the groundwork for the ultimate return & re-embodiment of Sauron!  Saruman fell into darkness when he delved too deep into the study of his enemy's ways. The wizard's pride and love of power overcame his wisdom, and all those to whom he had been known as friend became his enemies. He became the chief adversary of the freedom-loving people.

And finally… One of the most devious & poisonous characters… “Shelob”!!!
A massive, ugly evil spider who makes her way from the west coast of Middle Earth… Spewing venom & spinning a web of lies, deceit and incompetence such as has never been seen before!
